Founders
Absolute Solutions was formalized in 2004 by Kena Galvan and Melinda Mitchell. Each brings their unique practical experience to your organization through their hands-on, service oriented approach.

Kena Galvan

Kena has over 20 years experience in the health care industry. She has served in many areas including contracting, financial and operational management, business development and marketing, and technology implementation.

Prior to founding Absolute Solutions, Kena worked in large hospital systems including UCSD, Scripps and Sharp HealthCare, as well as multi-specialty practices and private centers. This diverse background provides Kena, and thus Absolute Solution’s clients, with a unique, all-sides point of view and the drill down capabilities to formalize your vision, implement the plan, review the successes and opportunities, and continue fine-tuning to perfection.

Kena envisioned an opportunity to cut costs and improve the bottom line in her own company, and Absolute Solutions International (ASI) was established in 2008. Based in Thailand, ASI combines the strength of trained staff with cost effective globalization. ASI operates with the same commitment to excellence benchmarked by Absolute Solutions. ASI is now its own service organization leveling the playing field for physician practices, facilities and billing services of all sizes.

Melinda Mitchell

Melinda has been a member of the San Diego Medical community for over 30 years.  Her career history includes multi-specialty office settings as a medical biller, billing supervisor, office manager and facilities business office and financial manager. In the early 2000s, she made the decision to offer her experience as an independent consulting service for billing and financial analysis for private physician practices.  

She was successful in improving the revenue cycle of many offices but understood there were many needs of these small offices still not being met.  Since the opening of Absolute Solutions, she has partnered to provide complete medical office solutions including billing, office management and financial analysis with an emphasis on developing quality relationships with clients.   

Melinda continues to work directly with the offices. By offering individualized services that truly meet the needs of each office, she is able to improve office organization, employee relations and financial solvency.  Whether it is billing only, or complete office management, she is able to work with staff to identify the need, provide the resource and implement the solution.  She empowers the office to increase overall productivity by maintaining a team approach.  Together, they are able to reach the goal of ensuring payments upon first submission resulting in an improved bottom line.

Melinda understands that our medical community's needs continue to grow and change in the upcoming years and believes that quality staff will continue to be our number one asset.  For these reasons, she serves on the Advisory Board of Kaplan College. 

Melinda is very active outside of work as well.  She volunteers with two local animal rescue groups and keeps busy with five dogs of her own!  She also enjoys spending lots of time outdoors on her bike and exploring all that our wonderful San Diego has to offer.
